I tucked the strap in the back pictured, but it is fully in tack. I preferred not to hook it - preferred it to just be a V back. I have the extra fabric from when the dress was hemmed in case you need/want it. A plunging, slightly curved V-neckline is feminine and figure-flattering—complete with an illusion tulle panel for adequate coverage and comfortable support.
