St. Benedict of Nursia Medal Original Design Hand Cast Aluminum 1.25"

This medal is handcrafted from an original carved wood design, molded in casting sand and hand cast in reclaimed aluminum. St. Benedict, father of Western monasticism, is shown with his bishop's crozier (staff), holding his "Rule" of monasticism in the form of a book. "St. Benedict" is stamped into the metal on the front and "Pray for Us" on the reverse. The medal comes with a split ring suitable for attaching it to a chain, lanyard, keychain, or rosary. Measures approximately 1.25" and weighs 1/4 ounce. Aluminum is lightweight, does not tarnish or rust, and is generally considered hypoallergenic (people with metal allergies may still experience irritation with aluminum).
