St. Brigid of Kildare Medal Original Design Hand Cast Aluminum 1.25"

Saint Brigid of Kildare or Saint Brigid of Ireland is the patron saint of Ireland, and one of its three national saints along with Patrick and Columba. According to medieval Irish hagiographies, she was an abbess who founded the important abbey of Kildare as well as several other convents. This original design shows her holding a flame with a St. Brigid Cross. "St Brigid" is stamped into the aluminum on the front, and "Pray for Us" on the back. The design was carved in wood, then hand cast in a sand mold with reclaimed aluminum that was smelted in our shop. The medal comes with a split ring suitable for attaching it to a chain, lanyard, keychain, or rosary. Measures approximately 1.25" and weighs 1/4 ounce. Aluminum is lightweight, does not tarnish or rust, and is generally considered hypoallergenic (people with metal allergies may still experience irritation with aluminum).
