A fantastic find, this "new old stock" lovely 1970s midi dress has a front keyhole neck with a single button and a cute attached vest that ties at the front waist. Adorable, whimsical pastel ribbon print on a cream-based fabric. Feels like comfortable lightweight polyester. The tag size is 6, and would best flatter a modern day 4-6 (Small). iamgeni The brand is "St. Gillian by Kay Unger." Back in 1972, Kay Unger had a small dress business that was limping along because she was basically a designer and knew nothing about running a business. Then one evening she invited two acquaintances from the garment district in Manhattan to her apartment and suggested that they go into business together. Four weeks later they shipped their first order as the St. Gillian Group.

iamgeni The Gillian Group was one of the largest suppliers of women's apparel in America. After 2 decades, they shut down in 1995, and Unger went on to create her own line, which today is sold at high-end department stores such as Neiman Marcus and Saks. The original tag from Maas Brothers department store is attached. Maas Bros. was founded in 1886 in Tampa, FL, and its 39 FL locations merged into Burdines (now Macy's) in 1991.
