From a street vendor in Nayarit, Mexico. Looks like abalone and maybe mother of pearl Handcrafted, artisanal My dad got me these for my birthday and then gave me the exact same ones for Christmas. I think he bought a bunch of gifts in Mexico and forgot what he give to whom. The town in Nayarit is Chacala, a small village that relies on tourism and fishing. Think Sayulita but smaller!

clarityj @stellarblueeyes Yes I would say they are lightweight! It feels like the shell was made onto a light piece of wood or papier-mâché. I’m sensitive to heavy earrings and these never bothered me.
