Steinlen Chats et Autres Betes rare softcover French art book

This is one of fewer than 600 copies of Chats et Autres Betes -- Cats and Other Beasts -- printed in France in 1933. It features reproductions of drawings by Théophile Steinlen, a French poster artist in the late 1800s. Steinlen was known for his drawings of cats -- they were his favorite animal! -- and is the artist behind the iconic Le Chat Noir poster (among so, so many others). With text by Georges Lecomte, this amazing book features more than 100 of Steinlen's drawings. Each of the fine reproductions is covered by tissue paper. This copy is missing it's original glassine cover and there is one call-out -- a small mark on the cover (see photos for detail of this flaw). The central image in the book is a two-page spread of cats coming together before the King of Cats, who is backlit by a full moon (see photos for a glimpse of this amazing image!).
