Stretchy blue velvet gown

So I bought this dress in Key West Florida and it was the most comfortable stretchy blue velvet gown I had ever put on. I wore it to a gala event not thinking about what the motif might represent. It is still a wonderful dress and I’m sure someone would love to appreciate the context. Worn once in perfect condition.
