Head out into bitterly cold wind and you can be safe in the knowledge that your legs will be luxuriously wrapped up, protected from the elements so you can log the miles in comfort. Sugoi used its own Firewall 180 softshell fabric in several shaped panels stretching all the way up the front of the legs and over the crotch area. The rest of the bib tight is a ZeroPlus Lycra. The Firewall fabric is water resistant. These tights will keep you drier when splashing through occasional puddles and against light road spray from the front wheel. They're not waterproof, but there's more protection here than regular tights. The tights are held in place with wide stretchy bib straps with a full mesh back panel and combined with the ZeroPlus Lycra ensures there's no chance of overheating even if you're doing hill intervals or the temperature unexpectedly increases during an all-day ride. The construction is top-notch as well, with flat-lock seams and good durability so far. The ankles are zipped and there are a few reflective tabs. Inside there is Sugoi's own RC 100 padded insert, which is quite thin but is comfortable for several long hours. It's a one-piece construction that avoids seams, which can lead to discomfort, and it is positioned in just the right place and doesn't move about while peddling. No tears, stains, or rips. Smoke-free and pet-free home. Used...maybe once or twice.
