jodisjewelry I’m sure everyone is dealing with a lot of snow and cold temps. If you lose power this week, please don’t worry. We know there is an unusual situation. This is Brody’s first snow! We usually have Mike’s winters, but last night we got 5” snow, and it’s 11 degrees with a -5 windchill! That’s crazy, I don’t think I even own a scarf! 😂

We had 5-8” of snow n Paul’s work closed, which it’s only down maybe twice in 30 yrs. It’s usually in the 20’s at worst, many birds fly here in the winter. We were talking abt them this am n wondering if they flew further south, tonight it’s supposed to get down to 2!

Everything shuts down in the south when they say snow. Brody was hoping around like a bunny, he wasn’t too sure what it was n the driveway had drifts abt 2 feet deep. He was like a bucking Bull 😂.

jodisjewelry @gamer_princess isn’t this something! It’s beautiful but so unexpected n all of Tx n now Louisiana are having blackouts n the entire country is having this. It’s crazy! Kids were sledding down the hill in the school yard across the street. We had a big snow when I was in high school n I got to do that one year, it was fun, but I can’t fathom doing this every year! 😂

jodisjewelry The extreme weather across the entire US has caused a power shortage across the plains, Deep South, and is approaching the eastern seaboard. Almost 4 million w/o power in TX, and there are 20 states facing a power shortage. Another storm is following directly behind this one, so there isn’t currently enough power for the planned rolling blackouts. Regina, Sharon, and I have decided it would be best not to share this wk, as are many other share grps, in light of these circumstances.

jodisjewelry @grumpy_old_lady yesterday was a holiday and we don’t share on holidays. As the day wore on, the power outages were getting larger and larger, and I believe it’s 20 states now with a power shortage n rolling blackouts and NM, TX, LA, MS, and AL are almost all blacked out, apparently the windmills have frozen, also have another incoming storm and not enough power supplies.

brandi_1981 One (of 10) nerve endings would fill bk up b4 he could flush it back through my spinal cord and it was a struggle which he said could easily start leaking again!! Also they removed my tail bone and tons of my spine that was eroded. But once I get electric back on I plan to get my closet back up and going.

thing2and3 @jodisjewelry hi love I haven’t shared this week. Should I share everyone’s closet and cover the week? Having major eye problems so it hard for me to read. Going to a neurologist ophthalmologist as I’m legally blind at this point. Pupils are not the same size and different reactions. They think it’s from radiation I had but they have never seen something like this before. Botox around my eyes to try and get them open.

thing2and3 @jodisjewelry if I’m in the dark my left on opens half way. If I’m in the light my eyes hurt real bad so I’m mostly in my room with black out curtains. Listen to music or books that are read - why too many books I’ve listened to. Good things are my kids are old enough to help me which is a blessing.

I have 40 years experience as a gift buyer, owned my own store (which did very well) and now as we all know life makes drastic changes and we must re-invent ourselves. So I will have a ton more to post. Balancing my time working on closing one door and opening another. The entire county is impacted by back to back snow storms, so we made the decision not to share this wk, bc we expected many members to have power outrages, which some have. It’s crazy, there is snow on the beach on the gulf coast!! It’s beautiful but crazy! 😘🤗💕

jodisjewelry @cutee45 girl you wouldn’t believe the snow! I’m sure to some, a foot of snow isn’t much, but it closed Paul’s company n he works for a food distributor! But trucks couldn’t get in to drop off n few could get there to unload. They’ve only closed maybe 1-2 times in 27 yrs he’s been there.

We had one big snowstorm when I was in high school, we got a big sled ahead of time, the kind you can steer, n have a mtn by moms house. First time down mtn, it’s fun, sometimes we rode sitting up but went faster laying on top of each other

We had to be careful bc the house at the bottom (who builds a house right where a street comes down a mtn?) had these boulders along the street. Sure enough, we crashed right into the boulder! We could still sled, but the steering capabilities were gone 🤣🤣🤣

jodisjewelry @aanderspassions last fall, I’d gone almost a hr without my hair cut n it was down past my waist! I had to double up a pony tail n it was horrible to try n wash. When I got it cut, I was like a little more, a little more. It was barely touching my shoulders when I left n looked like a poodle at the salon! Or a big rat 😂. I got home n what did you do to your hair? Nothing, why? Where did it go? 😂😂

They decided to relocate to Singapore last yr n were loving it til Mrs Rona raised her ugly head! They spend a lot of time in Oz and have gone to NZ a few times. Hopefully this mess goes away this yr, we’ve have an open invitation since they moved, n I’ve been dying to take her up on it.

thing2and3 My parents were missionaries so I move a lot. I’ve live in USA more than anywhere. Some people ask me where I’m from so I do have an accent. My hubby is from Canada 🇨🇦. He has got a passport for here but I haven’t. Anyway he this he might loose his job here as he works at a university. With COVID a lot of people have been layoffs and he is expecting it to come. He said if he does we should move down to NZ.

thing2and3 My youngest (16) has gone down twice the other two (19,20) have gone once. I would love to move to NZ as being here is so busy all the time. They still have tons that are not open on Sunday and it’s not the crazy pass we have it here. Not the same fear of other people. No guns people can buy. It does have its own problems.my oldest is married so she will have to stay here.

It’s funny you mentioned guns, I was raised with them, plus we’re a big hunting state, so it’s normal to have all kinds of guns, pistols, rifles, shotguns, bow n arrows, crossbows, and enough ammo for a small army. My Paw used to say no self respecting southerner doesn’t have a gun collection. But my friends in other states, n especially other countries think that’s crazy 😂

The weekend of Northridge, we’d moved, fell into bed abt 3-3:15, awakened on the floor 15 min later, n we were in Spring Valley (East County!) I was upset I didn’t feel it! 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ Then later I drove to San Francisco n met the ship up there for fleet week n they had one while I was driving n I didn’t feel it either. On the way home, I had a blow out on the 405, I’d never had one before n good thing it was late

jodisjewelry @debjross bc my car went across 4 lanes out of control! Scared me to death n at first I thought I’d been shot! But I had Cashmere with me, n was able to run to the call box n someone came n helped me. The crazy thing was, that happened so so close to where Bill Cosby’s son was later shot! I also used to put Cashmere in the front seat, buckle her in, and use the HOV lanes 🤦🏻‍♀️ (I was 21, I wouldn’t do that now!) I look back at times n think how in the world did I make it to middle age? 😂😂

jodisjewelry @debjross We’re abt 10 yrs behind the rest of the county down here. Imagine this, there are abt 200k ppl in the Capitol city, and bedroom communities to northeast n northwest n southwest n southeast. There’s maybe 175k in North Little Rock, just a river apart but separate city. I’d guess abt 1 million ppl in central metro area, which is prob an hour to drive from one end to the other.

jodisjewelry @debjross From the center of state, it’s abt 2.5- 3 hrs to edge of state, and I believe our entire state population is 3 million (or 4, I can’t remember🤦🏻‍♀️) But it’s so spread out! We have maybe 4-5 tall bldgs in our downtown 😂. But it’s a quaint place.

Paul slid off the road this am on black ice, I told him to be grateful he just got stuck in a snow bank, but he’s not too happy abt the 150 wrecker bill! That doesn’t seem right to me, they’re all out anyways, I know they have to earn a living, but to charge that for not 5 min work?

jodisjewelry @elizabethcheree It was a slippery patch black ice in the curve at the road leading to entrance ramp of interstate n he was the first n then prob 10 cars slid off before they got there n he was more worried someone else was going to hit him. But that wrecker got all those cars out, you’d think he’d cut some of them a break instead of charging them all full price. Guess I’m just getting cheap in my old age 🤣
