I'm Sarah...my mommy has been in the hospital a lot. She didn't want me to be scared, but I knew mommy was. I hugged her a lot and made her feel better. She has had a bunch of surgeries this year. On Election Day she had part of the butterfly (thyroid) in her neck taken out 😥 but that's ok because it had a bad worm on it (malignant tumor/cancer). Now it's gone. Mommy is thankful it was found at stage 1, so we are having a really big sale, dropping prices to numbers with the number 1 in them!

scarletp @jennerator26 hi, just read this. Thyroid issues suck!! Congrats on finding it early and having it taken care of!!!🎉🎉🎉. Wishing you a speedy recovery and the perfect balance of Synthroid!!

jennerator26 @scarletp Thank you! And yes, thyroid issues do suck...especially the world of autoimmunity. This year has been a real pain in the neck (literally). I found out about the tumor by accident after having cervical spine fusion in June when I needed a CT scan for a totally unrelated, "non-nefarious" post-op lump of fluid....

jennerator26 @scarletp Then none of the tests were conclusive; suspicious at best..."nodules are common, and thyroid cancer is rare," or so I was told (by everyone who had not yet seen the imaging results). Well, I'm pretty rare too...sure enough! May the Synthroid be with me...and Happy Holidays to you too! 🎅🏻🎄🎁

scarletp @jennerator26 ya mine will be coming out before February. Diagnosed Graves (autoimmune thyroid disorder)6 years ago I am also a EDSer ( connective tissue syndrome) so the docs wanted me to keep the thyroid as long as possible. 6 years of hypo/hyper swings has been so much fun. Now I have Lots of nodes that have now turned on me so Now I am finally going to go get the surgery. So I know what you have been going through. Merry Christmas to you too!! Your baby girl is such a beauty!!

jennerator26 @scarletp Yep...Graves would have explained "me" several years ago...more on the hyperthyroidism end. When I was in Grad school working at a counseling clinic, their psychiatrist came up to me one day-right in the office area behind the front desk...where The Entire World could tune in...and asked me about my big bulging eyes and if I had ever been diagnosed with Graves...so much for HIPPA!

scarletp @jennerator26 oh wow that's just so wrong. I don't have the eyes because of the EDS. It makes all my connective tissue Vary stretchy so my eye don't Bulge. I do have some vision impairment though. I swing between hyper and hypo.one month I will be a size 2 then the next month I am a size 12. I will be vary happy to get mine out so maybe I can balance out.

jennerator26 @scarletp It's baffling to me that our bodies can secretly be self-destructing way before we have symptoms...and nothing shows up on the "standard" basic tests. My doctor was on his way to declaring me a hypochondriac until-oh no-umm...wait...we have to run more tests...a lot more tests...🙄

go0fyone Oh my goodness, I'm glad your mommy is doing better. I too had my butterfly removed from a very naughty worm. My daughter is almost fourteen and she looks a lot like you. She spent the first 20 months of her life in the hospital. She is doing very well now, but has a pretty necklace to wear around her neck for a few more years. I love your stories and will be watching your closet for goodies that we will want to buy. I'm sure you will be a great sales person.
