Swarovski Crystal Retired Bear (1980s) MINT

It's very hard to believe, but this Swarovski Crystal Bear is FORTY years old. The reason I know this, is the very first job I ever had was at a Zales Jewelers. One holiday season, Zales stocked its stores with these bears. If I'm not mistaken, this is the very first bear that was introduced. I don't think he was given a name because that first year, I'm certain they thought it was a one-shot deal. He is just adorable in his side-cocked cap and scarf tied around his neck. He is made up of three Swarovski Crystal balls. His body, his head and his ear. I believe his little black nose and eyes are cabochon Swarovski crystals as well. There is another half crystal under his black crystal on his nose, giving it lift and dimension. The bottom of the bear is clearly stamped T which stands for TRIMLITE and a C for Copyrighted. It may seem unusual, but at this time, Swarovski was not readily making these small Objets de Arte yet, so they were sourced by their TRIMLITE division. Once they realized the success of the bear, more bears and every animal imaginable were made with the Swarovski Hallmark. That is what makes these TRIMLITE bears so collectable. I have had this one and the other two I have listed packed away for forty years. I don't have the boxes because I have them in a special box wrapped in tissue. 1.5" high
