Tales Of The Jazz Age Published by Charles Schribners' Sons New York First Edition with point of issue: "and" on p. 232, line 6 1922 Condition: Very good+ original publisher's dark green cloth, gilt title & author's name on the spine, and title and author's name blind stamped on the front cover. The covers show some dark stains on the front and back and some shelf wear to the points and edges. There are some very short splits in the cloth to the top and bottom edges of the spine. The binding is square and solid. The inside front and back hinges are free from any paper cracking. There is no foxing (age spots) or stains inside. There are no signs of former ownership. 1 of 8000 first editions printed. The book size is 5.50 by 7.75 inches tall, 317 pages. A reproduction copy of the first edition dust jacket is included. This is not the original dust jacket but a copy of one enclosed in a removable plastic sleeve. About this title: Tales of the Jazz Age is Fitzgerald's second collection of short stories, published shortly after his second novel The Beautiful and the Damned; as per Scribner's sales tactics, each collection of short stories was scheduled to follow the publication of a novel, with the goal of the short story collection to feed off of the popularity of its companion novel. Tales of the Jazz Age includes some of the author's most well-known short stories, organized thematically into three sections: "My Last Flappers," "Fantasies," and "Unclassified Masterpieces."
