TOD'S vintage Gommini loafers women's size 7.5

TOD'S vintage white patent with black stitching Gommini loafer. Handmade in Italy Size 7.5 women's Bought at Bergdorf Goodman in 1992. Worn a couple of times.This was when Tod's first came to America. Diana Princess of Wales was a big fan and was pictured wearing them often, as was Sting who was seen wearing them very beat up. Originally designed as driving shoes and modeled after the famous "Car" shoes. Several years later the company dropped the J.P. TOD'S mark and they became just TOD'S. There is slight wear as pictured in the soles, no holes or tears. When worn on pavement the bottoms show immediate wear.To give them new life after the gommini (Vibram rubber nubbies) on the sole wear down, a good cobbler can resole them with a plain thin Vibram bottom similar to what is put on Belgian Loafers. Actually many women put those thin Vibram bottoms on their dress shoes so they have more traction and do not get ruined on wet pavement. Gently used, sanitized and ready for their new owner. Comes with vintage box and vintage red flannel dust bag original to shoe.
