Over the years, Tom James Company has acquired many of the manufacturing authorities in the custom clothing industry. One of the first acquisitions in 1974 was the English American Company, a custom suitmaker that traces its roots back over 100 years. In 1994, the last hand-sewn suit manufacturer in the U.S., Oxxford Clothing, became part of the Tom James family. Tom James Company acquired Holland & Sherry in 2003.
