Trail of Painted Ponies Spirit War Pony #1462 Ceramic 1st Edition
Pony Number 1462
1st Edition 5258 (I believe)
Retired February 2005
Artist: Tavlos
Made of Ceramic; Stands 6" tall
The Santa Fe artist Tavlos is credited with originating the famous howling coyote imagery that became a trademark of Southwest art in the '80s.
Known for his bold colors and vivid designs, he took a pop art approach to the Native American tradition of painting their war horses, giving his Pony a turquoise coat and decorating it with dazzling accents.
This item has been stored in the original box and Styrofoam; it is in excellent condition and includes the black box and black story tag. Box shows wear. And there is a bend in the tag. There is also a rattle, not sure why.
