Diana, the late Princess of Wales, was the Queen of Style -- an icon and a trendsetter. The contrast navy/red houndstooth suit she wore in the late 1980s, pictures 2 and 3, inspired versions across the fashion world, including this charming vintage Tahari skirt suit, made in the USA with a union-made label in the seam. It is a vintage size 12 so I include the measurements; please do check them as a size 12 then may be different from a size 12 now. Jacket length: 29 inches; padded shoulder, 17 inches; sleeve 23 inches; pit to pit 19.5 inches. Skirt: length 23.5 inches; waist side to side 30 inches. The fabric is a nubbly weave of rayon and wool. The pieces look smashing together, and equally so separately: the jacket with jeans and the skirt with a tailored white blouse.
