@ironwomen I know, we had seven at one time, each one was so different. Our last one, a Tennesee Walker, just passed a few months ago. We had an Appy, a Arab/Standbred, two Arabs, two Quarter Horses and the Tennesee Walker. I miss them but my riding days are over so the memories will have to do.

@billetking wow what beautiful horses you had! Im so sorry to hear of their passing. We have three quarter horses. My sister horse (one of the brown mares) came pregnant, but she was only about a month into her pregnant so we didn't know yet. After a month of having her I was brushing her out and I felt a kick! And then months later our little filly was born! Now she is about 2 years old. We named her after the first horse my sister and I ever rode named Sweetie. We were going to purchase her, but one week before we signed the paper work, she passed away😞 but her name lives on through our spunky and lively little baby! Lol! ❤️

@ironwomen Isn't it funny how each comes with their own story. My Arab/saddlebred was my divorce present to myself. I had him 26 years. The Appy was my daughters 8th grade self imposed science project. Her and her friend wanted to see how horses "did it". We had her for 25 years. The Walker and one other were rescues and one if the quarters was a race track rescue that I bought my husband our first Christmas we were together. It just seems like once they hit the ranch they never left.

@billetking oh my goodness, lol! They sound like they had quite the luxury life! You ranch sounds like a 5-star hotel for horses😊
About three years ago, i discovered I have a heart condition. I was forced to stop dancing, doing martial arts, and everything that was going to require physical exercise. Thank God I didn't have to stop working with horses. I was so upset that I couldn't continue with all of my activities, that my dad surprises me and brought me to a different stable where he and the owner lined up 3 horses for me to choose from. I just went right over when I saw my big boy and knew he was the one! ❤️❤️

@ironwomen Sorry to hear about the health problems but at least you get to ride. I turned 65 last year so we decided that we wouldn't get anymore horses. Hay is 17-18 a bale and the grand kids are into dirt bikes so we got a Teryx UTV and head out to the desert to off road. I do miss my babies though. My Arab saddlebred was my special guy. We learned to ride together. He wasn't quite two when I got him. He loved those trails.
