First printing, with a full number line (10-1) on the copyright page, of the closest to Andy Warhol's autobiography. Most of this book was transcribed from phone conversations between Warhol and his longtime friend, Pat Hackett, from 1976-1987. It's a very interesting account of his day to day experiences, with healthy doses of bitching and ice cold gossip peppered throughout. The "diaries" conclude just a couple weeks prior to his assassination by radical feminist writer, Victoria Solanas, who was actually a bit part presence in Warhol's "Factory" scene. The photos of this book are a highlight, showing rare moments of various celebrities out of their standard element. The book itself is in fair shape, with minor surface wear on the front and rear boards, but the pages are in near mint shape, crisp and with only the slightest discoloration from age. The dust jacket is the main victim of time, but considering it's age of almost 40 years, it's not that bad. Bonus vintage bookmark from Unnameable Books Bookstore in Brooklyn, where I'm assuming the book was purchased.
