Description
Taken from the original design of the Louis XVI Period of late 18th Century France, the Theodore Alexander 2021-709 "The Cabochon Lamp" exemplifies the Neo-Classic influence of the time.
With the discovery of the ruins of Pompeii in 1748 and excitement over further archaeological discoveries, features from antiquity and classical proportions found their way into the design of this period. A striking example with its elegant lines and stately appearance, the fine brass and mahogany table lamp is appointed with creamy onyx cabochons on the base and brass Neo-Classical mounts for the body of the vase.
Handsomely finished, the distinguished light fixture is accented with a hand-sewn silk shade embroidered with a Greek key pattern. Theodore Alexander's craftsmen still use traditional woodworking techniques and materials to ensure enduring quality in each creation.
