The Humphrey Inverted Patented Antique Arc Gas Lamp Globe. The Humphrey Company was founded in 1901 by Alfred Humphrey, who started the General Gas Light Company in Kalamazoo, Michigan, marketing new, inverted arc gaslights. Humphrey opened offices in San Francisco, New York, Havana, London, and Bremen. According to my research, British and American Patent dates on these were 1905 - 1908 Measurements are approximately 9' high x 9.75" across at the widest section of the globe. The opening measures just under 6" across. Because of the shape, exact measurements are difficult. If there is a better way to measure, please instruct me before purchasing. My measurements are approximate. The globe is white or frosted color with "Humphreys' Inverted Patented" etched into the glass. There are no cracks or chips. Please contact me before purchase with any questions.
