Nalu means “wave” in Hawaiian - Bias cut liquid satin slip dress with a draped off-one-shoulder sleeve and cowl back.
The liquid satin shows off fluid movement, soft drape and sensual glow. The design details and volumes that mimic the waves are gentle and calm but spectacular and dramatic at times. Washing off the excess, leaving the styles clean and balanced.
Excellent condition wedding gown by Newhite. Gorgeous asymmetrical style with low back and raw hem. Was worn for my ceremony and first dances, and then changed into a different dress. Dry cleaned immediately after the wedding. Minor interior stains at bottom of dress, not visible externally. No discolorations. Fabric is delicate, some super minor snags that aren’t noticeable due to the reflective nature of the fabric. Snags in video are located at bottom front of dress. There are similar snags along the back of the train. Please carefully review all photos and video. A bustle was added to make it easier to maneuver, attached with a small button and string. Purchased from The One Bridal Boutique in Brooklyn NY.
Newhite gowns are made to order. I opted for a split size, so the top of the dress is a US size 4, street size 2, and the bottom is a US size 8, street size 6.
Marking as a size 4 as that is the size I feel it will fit most, I usually wear a size 4 in all dresses.
My approximate measurements for reference -
Bust: 30 inches, A-B cup
Waist: 26.5 inches
Hip: 38 inches
Height: 5’4.75

Hi! Did the hem come like that after you purchased it? And were there other alterations that were done to the dress besides the bustle? And are the only signs of snagging of the fabric in the straps shown in photo? Or is it in other places too?

@nntran the light frays are part of the nature of the fabric, I believe I captured them all in the photos but u can check Monday after the holiday weekend ends. The hem was always raw but I did have the dress shortened slightly in the front as it was extremely long when I got it.

But I can double check ***

@nntran looking really closely I added 1 more photo of the straps. They are like these tiny little flyaways that could be carefully trimmed off. I wouldn’t even call them snags, it’s kind of just the nature of the fabric.

@wearthisandthat thanks! And when you say you did split sizing did they just measure you for a 4? Or did they truly customize it to make the bottom an 8 and top is a 4?
Additionally, so no snagging at all? Just those little frays on the straps? Like the thread isn’t pulling anywhere on the dress? (Just triple checking because i almost bought this dress used from someone but there were tiny little pulls in the fabric in multiple areas. Wish I could show you an example lol)

@wearthisandthat also is the price negotiable?

@nntran The dress is split size - please review the measurements in the description. I opted for split size so that I wouldn’t have to dramatically take in the top portion of the dress as my bust is much smaller than my hips. If your measurements are within those listed (meaning that size or smaller) then the dress should work for you, with whatever alterations needed to fit your size if smaller is needed.

@nntran I’m going to upload a video of the dress shortly to go through the fabric of the dress.
Open to reasonable offers!

@wearthisandthat so other than the bustle added and hem, were there other alterations done to the dress? For example straps shortened, side taken in etc?
wearthisandthat
@nntran no other alterations other than the hemming. I just added a video and extra photo. Towards the bottom of the dress there are what I’d describe as a few very minor pulls. I tried to capture them in the photo/video. I didn’t notice them initially as the way the fabric reflects makes it pretty difficult to spot them and it’s towards the bottom of the dress. I only found these in front - none on the back that I was able to find.

@nntran correction on my above statement. Added a photo of the back at the very end of the train, more of those pulls I described. Added a photo. There is also 1 spot in the interior of the dress that is not seen from the outside that I just found.

@nntran I’ve updated the description and added additional photos/video. Feel free to make an offer if you are interested. Thanks!
