@brookelemacks it’s the goose down fill ratio. 700 is warmer and lighter. Also, you’ll notice the 700 has 4 straight “sections” across the body. That means there are bigger clusters of goose down so you have even heating around your body bid you look at other styles, like 559 and 600, there are more line patterns across the design. This means there are smaller clusters of goose down, so it doesn’t keep you as warm. 550 is still warm, but 700 is warmer.

@brookelemacks It’s also the more fashionable style - if you look at which north face jackets are worn for hip/trendy looks, it’s the 700.
