A framed picture of the historic Pirate House, located in Charleston, South Carolina ready to hang or display in your home. The French Quarter is located within the originally walled city. There are various legends about problems with pirates, especially Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet, including holding hostages for medicines.
143-145 Church Street aka “The Pirate House” with its hipped roof, dormers and red shutters is a familiar site to Charlestonians. The structure was originally built with brick and Bermuda stone as a double tenement around 1740 by Alexander Peronneau, a wealthy French Huguenot. The house was renovated into a single-family residence in 1928.
The framed picture is doubled-matted under glass in a gold tone wooden frame.

Good Afternoon. Yes, I do love Charleston also and wish I could visit more often!!!
To answer your question, it is not an oil painting but a print. There is a signature Amelie Rosehmut or Rosehnut, cannot tell from the signature the exact spelling. I believe it is just a copy of the the original as I see a smaller signature on the print. Hope the information helps and than you for your inquiry!
