Green velvet jacket by The Scotch House, 1980 (c). Size 40, fits like a US Medium pre-owned with no major flaws This jacket shows the influence of military style on civilian fashion. The details on the pockets and cuffs are reminiscent of those found on the doublets of highland regiments. The Scotch House was founded by the Glaswegian Gardiner and Company Limited in London in 1839. Based on the junction of Knightsbridge and Brompton Road, it gave rise to the junction's informal name, Scotch Corner.
