In 1967 Wheaton Glass, a division of Wheaton Industries, began to produce commemorative decanters, flasks, and bottles.
The Wheaton Presidential Decanter was created after the death of President Kennedy as a monument in glass to the fallen young leader. So well received was this exquisite decanter that a continuing series of Presidential Decanters was launched, and at six-month intervals new editions, similar to the JFK were issued. They all share the Boston watch fob design and have iridescent highlights.
The production of each Presidential Decanter was purposely limited so that special care could be exercised and so that these creations could be true tributes of a continually increasing value. They are truly high quality American made glass from Wheaton/Nuline in Millville, New Jersey. The last of the series was President Nixon. These bottles originally retailed for five dollars in the early 1970's.
