The cotton fibers are dyed using pigments from native plants, bark, vegetables, fruit, and flowers, coconut shells, achiote, and avocado trees. These fibers are moistened in water to allow a deeper pigmentation, while the plants are boiled. Weavers dip and strain the fibers until they are rich in color, and then dry them in the sun. / Each artisan is paid fair wages and ensured a safe working environment. We are intentionally thoughtful in every step of bringing these bags to our customers. 10% of all bag proceeds go back to the communities in Guatemala who we source the bags.
