Timex Camper Field Watch from MacGyver

SUPER RARE, Vintage Timex "Camper Field Watch" Military style watch. This is the exact style worn by TVs MacGyver during the first 3 and a half seasons (1985-1989). It was stolen in season 4 of the show. The watch itself is a Timex ‘Camper’ brand which was originally designed as a disposable wind-up watch for the marines1 in the early ’80s, but due to the cost of meeting the military’s strict specifications, Timex abandoned the idea and continued to market the watch to the public as the ‘Camper’ through the ’80s and ’90s before discontinuing production. The watch body is a one-piece plastic case incorporating solid lugs for the strap to slide through (as per the military requirements at the time). It has no removable back due to the intention of it being a disposable wind-up so no maintenance or battery access was needed. The piece seems to be 1988 or 1989 from the serial number, but wothth curvature of the crystal I can't make out the exact date. Pictures are included, maybe you have better eye sight than I do! This piece runs and seems to keep proper time for a piece of it's age, but I can't guarantee it's accuracy over extended periods. Awesome piece for a MacGyver fan, a Military Watch Collector, or just someone who loves cool watches with history.
