Condition: New Size: 5 7/8 x 3 7/8 inches Effect: 3D Lenticular Effect This hard-to-find postcard features Mickey and friends as they create the Disney animated short "Plane Crazy". The colorful postcard has a film reel border and a 3D lenticular effect that gives the image depth. The postcard shows Mickey and Minnie Mouse aboard Mickey's makeshift plane. The plane looks just like Mickey's old jalopy/car plane in the cartoon - complete with turkey feathers for the plane's tail. Goofy is filming the cartoon and Pluto is holding the film clapperboard. If you look carefully you can see Clarabelle the cow operating the filming lights and Donald Duck operating the crane hoisting Minnie. Behind the scenes you see the boat for "Steamboat Willie" with Pete beside it. This postcard was exclusively available at the Tokyo Disneyland Resort. The postcard is retired and is no longer available. It's a wonderful postcard for collector's who enjoy early Disney animation. Collector's Note: The original "Plane Crazy" cartoon (animated by Ub Iwerks) was the first Walt Disney cartoon that featured Mickey and Minnie Mouse. It failed to pick up a distributor and was the fourth Mickey Mouse cartoon released after the success of Steamboat Willie (1928).
