This beautiful Mid Century vintage, 1940’s Shawnee Teapot depicts Tom the Piper's Son from the nursery rhyme. The fully functional and adorable pot has a pig shaped pour spout. It is embossed on the bottom. The item dates to the 1940's and is patterned after the nursery rhyme: Tom has a stolen pig in right hand, the pour spout and stolen corn in his left hand.
MATERIAL: ceramic
SIZE / DIMENSIONS : Approximately 8.5" x 5" wide x 7" tall
COLORS: Off white/cream colored body with blue, brown, yellow, red, black
CONDITION: Has normal use and age associated wear, including some staining on the inside (from holding tea), and one chip inside top rim of the lid (not visible with lid on). The top of Tom’s hat has a small chip, the pig ear has a small chip, and the rim by the corn has a crack in the glaze. See Photos. None of the detract from the beauty of this piece or the pot’s functionality.
