I am a high school English teacher, and I have a propensity towards drama, as do my two daughters. (You know what they say: plant tomatoes, get tomatoes.) When I started Poshing, I used Paypal, but now I know better and will only sell on Posh. I hope sellers won't be offended if I resell things that don't fit me. I love to share and meet new people. I'm beginning to worry that I'm a bit of a voyeur because I enjoy snooping in people's closets.

mizfabulousity @tinated : I 'be been a teacher for 20 years and 2 years ago switched from teaching elementary school to teaching Spanish K-8 . My school year ended last Tuesday 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

mommalaughing @tinated @mizfabulousity so weird to see y'all talking about the school year ending so late! Mine got out May 21st! Can't believe it but they are down to their last few weeks of summer. And, they mess up our last week by having them come in for their first day - a half day - on a Friday! Boo hiss! Lol

tinated @mommalaughing yeah. We were done about a month after you. We don't go back til after Labor Day. I'd actually prefer going in even later in September and staying later in June. The weather's usually better in September, and the beaches are cleared of all the shoobies.

msmara18 Thank you!! Yes!! It has been a dream of mine for sometime :) I wanted to have a place where people could go where they feel 100% secure because they KNOW me, lol. Posh is great, and through posh I've met great people! I'm excited to have this opportunity to be in "both" worlds :) and this way I don't go against posh policies and I respect their platform :)

mizfabulousity @tinated : I'm almost there ! I have $150 so far just from Posh sales . I also had a few ladies just donate $ directly to my team . I'm so blessed I found these nice ladies that have such a huge heart .💖 I think I'm going to do Pennies for patients ( LLS) in my classroom this year to help out too . We start school early here and end early too . Not like back east when I went to school 👍😃

tinated I haven't tried using Posh for fundraising (yet). I'm a very strong believer in giving back to the community. I do a lot of work to help a local branch of the United Way that does telephone reassurance for senior citizen and shut in. My 6y/o daughter actually collected $400 for Jeff Bauman after the Boston Marathon bombing (his family is from this area). I just started selling Stella & Dot, and I'm doing a show and donating all my profits to a local girl who suffered severe burns at a barbeque. At any rate, I love when I see others doing the same! I wish Posh would have a charity party one night, where they could donate a portion of the sales (like 1/2 of the 20%) to a charity. Wouldn't that be awesome? Even if it was only something they did quarterly.

tinated @elkie1115 , NJ used to have a similar retirement deal, but Christie changed that. It's so funny -- the other day my in-laws (retired teachers, too) were complaining about NJ's DOE because of all the testing. The conversation started because my daughter, who was in kindergarten last year, had about an hour of homework every night. I feel like the teachers of younger grades, in a lot of ways, have it SO much harder: There is so much to cover, in addition to all the socialization, learning of school rules, etc.

elkie1115 @tinated Sorry for the delay in getting back to you; I have a lot of family issues going on. I simply cannot believe what has happened to the state of education nowadays; I feel like our society has collectively gone mad!!! An hour's homework for a kindergartner!!! Unreal!!! And with all of this testing, testing, testing, who is benefitting???? The test companies!!! Not only that, but all of this vilification and hatred of teachers and teachers' unions (and unions in general) - where did that come from?? I recently read someplace that the only time people are in favor of teachers is when they save their children from tornadoes or mass murderers; otherwise they are perceived as demons who are only looking out for themselves. Of course, the unions are looking out for their members; that's what unions do, but it is DEFINITELY not at the expense if the kids (like it is too often portrayed in the media). As you can see, I really have some strong feelings here, and I simply DETEST Bloomberg with his super attitude and condescending manner, as well as Christie, with his snotty constant put down of anyone who disagrees (not to mention his foul mouth). There - I guess I have probably said too much, but as you can see, I have some very, very strong feelings about this. (And unfortunately, in this climate I think that all classroom teachers have it rough - at any level.)
