gypsythrift22 @tlbutterfly please forgive me. I have a terrible habit of waiting for a good quiet time to sit and respond carefully... I never forgot about you.... but took far longer than I meant to. I use good old tulip dye. It is all I’ve tried so far. I like the “neon” pack they make.

gypsythrift22 @tlbutterfly I have tried to order the tulip tye dye refill packets (not their fabric dye packets, those are different, but the actual ones that say the dye) and I think they are a different formula than what they use in the bottles... though it’s supposed to be the same. I feel like the most vibrant colors come when I buy the packs that come with all the bottles. I am so sick of buying the bottles though... such a waste... I keep meaning to write Tulip and request a wholesale option. .....

gypsythrift22 @tlbutterfly I also tried washing in “washing soda” first to really strip the fabric for absorbency.... and I won’t do that again because I think it worked too well.. the dyes all wicked together leaving no white. ... and that’s what I like about your tye dye, you seem to know how to leave just enough white. Lately I seem to over-soak and all the colors run together....

tlbutterfly @gypsythrift22 well thankyou! I use tulip as well I havnt seen the packets I've always done the kitschy, and I was wondering about the soda so thanks! Good to know , wanted to know if there was something better, tulip is good but I have nothing to compare it to, I just wish it didnt fade it looks so good at first!

gypsythrift22 @tlbutterfly Frim my experience the “neon” kits maintain color better with time rather than fading...
