US 11th Airborne Assault Badge Maltese Cross & Shield Pin Army Air Force

Pin of an American 11th Airborne Assault Badge, which is represented by a winged shield that has a lightening bolt and rifle behind it, which is then mounted to a Maltese cross, which is a symbol for protection, and then hanging from that is a larger shield, all in a silver tone. This silver pin is a great military collectible that represents protection, bravery and accomplishments, as the 11th Airborne Division was an active division from the early 1940s to mid 1960s. The earliest soldiers in this division participated in World War II. The division has been reactivated as of 2022. They aren't just flying experts but also experts in Arctic conditions, with a master of very cold temperatures and artic terrain. They are called America's Arctic Angels. This piece has not been dated so it is unclear if it is from the original or reactivated division. It is in very good pre-loved condition with light wear. It is nearly 4 inches tall and almost 2.5 inches wide. See photos for questions.
