Selling used make-up items is unhygienic & against the rules here at Poshmark. Germs are introduced when you swatch, which is why cosmetics are sold factory-sealed. Yes, swatched, even once, still counts as used. I do not share used make-up items, ever. If I see that you're selling used make-up, I will unfollow you or not follow back. It's gross, period ๐Ÿ˜’๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜ท

fabloot OMG. I asked a Posher how exactly they claimed that they sanitized their used lipstick, eyeshadow etc. Was told that they wipe them with alcohol and that she was a professional makeup artist! HOLY HELL. Can you say Herpes/Conjunctivitis! SMH

thaedgeofglory @fabloot In the workplace setting of an MUA, I understand that make-up has to be used on different people. But, to sell used make-up on here, especially when it's expressly forbidden? Nah, that's a hard pass ๐Ÿ˜’๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿพ๐Ÿšซ

fabloot @thaedgeofglory I have worked as an Event makeup artist, I have worked both freelance and for Christian Dior. We never wiped the makeup with alcohol. It's pointless. You cannot sanitize a porous surface. Of course, lipstick is never applied from the tube. A small portion is taken from the product with a clean spatula. Brushes however can be sanitized with a specialty product created for brushes. Then again, we did not sell the sampled cosmetics. SMH.

thaedgeofglory @fabloot Exactly! You have a protocol to prevent contamination and don't re-sell the cosmetics. People are don't understand basic hygienic practices as it pertains to cosmetology. It burns me up!
