vintage329 @agared No. It does not get any narrower between the chest and the hem. The Chest (armpit to armpit) measurement is the same as the waist (at the hem) measurement which is 19 inches. Any tighter point would be based on how it fits you and having the jacket buttoned. If you tightly button the jacket the width will be 15 inches.
