Uniquely square-shaped vintage Mid-century Royal Sealy Japan rose themed teacup

(SHIPPING IS AVAILABLE WITHIN THE USA ONLY, ONLY DOMESTIC SHIPPING WITHIN THE US. Thank you) Unusual square-shaped charming footed teacup and its saucer with a rose theme, by Royal Sealy, Japan. This cup is yet another proof of the Japanese brand's amazing creativity: both cup and saucer are designed after a rounded square pattern; the cup rests on four feet, each foot stemming from a corner of its square base; the same way, the handle is not perpendicular to one of the cup's sides, but aligned with one of its diagonals (see the 2nd picture)... Cup and saucer are decorated with a large pink rose with lush green foliage, plus a small budding one (on the other side of the cup, and another one inside). Cup and saucer have their rims sprayed with gold, the handle is entirely painted in gold. The cup holds about 6 fluid ounces. Very good vintage condition with no crack or crazing, and a clear crystalline ping when you hold it by the base and gently strike the rim of the cup (a sign that there is no crack). A tiny chip on the handle (middle): I thought it was wear to the gilding, but it turns out to be a small chip. Slight wear to transfer decor and gold. The large rose on the saucer shows more wear, as well as a scratch (see picture). Gilding is generally hand painted and therefore not always uniform in consistency. Additionally, age may discolor the gilding. Most of these cups are well over fifty years old and this is to be expected with vintage items.
