Utterly Exquisite 14kt Yellow Gold and Ruby Flower Ring

Please note, I have priced this ring at its “rip it out of my cold, dead hands” price, because I am very fond of it although I never do wear it. Purchased off an “ex-boyfriend jewelry” site, this gorgeous ring features three layers of 14kt yellow gold petals textured in a style I have previously only seen on Buccelati jewelry. The ruby is held cleverly in place by prongs on the topmost set of petals. The band, although it fits only to a US 5.5 on a sizing rod, actually fits comfortably on a size 7 finger and stays upright and secure thanks to a pair of sizing beads inside the band. The ruby is 10mm in diameter and glows with inner fire—it also glows under a UV light, as it should. To my eye, the ring was uniquely handcrafted by a master. It is many leagues above the jewels one might find in the usual mall jewelry stores. I have neither the documentation nor the expertise to ascertain the composition of the stone.
