VERY RARE Vintage New Romantics 80s Rubber Vinyl Purse

This piece was produced by Jane Kahn, one half of Kahn & Bell—the designers credited with creating the look of the New Romantics, designing for acts like Duran Duran and Shock. This clutch is likely from the period soon after she moved to London and started the label. After splitting up in the 80s, Jane Kahn moved to London where she started her own label “Kahniverous,” which focused on New Wave, gender bending fashion. Kahn & Bell had previously sold through a stall at the Great Gear Market (a center of New Wave, New Romantic, and Punk fashion). The slogan on the label matches what Kahn & Bell used when they designed together. The logo for the label also appears to have changed in the 90s based on later pieces. This clutch has some tearing/tarnish due to the nature of the material and it’s age. I’ve been unable to find anything similar to this bag online. I would not recommend using it as more than an accessory. This one-of-a-kind piece is suitable for collection. The purse will be shipped in a cotton dust bag.
