This is a wonderful 1950s era cocktail party dress that was made by Daymor Dress Inc. of Montreal. It is sleeveless, has a u-shaped neckline, a beaded bodice and a to-the-knee length skirt. The beads are white and are strung along threads to form little loops on the bodice. The dress closes with a nylon zipper up the back. In the 50s/60s, Daymor Couture dresses were sold at large Canadian department stores. The company later expanded to sell widely on the American market in New-York based stores Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, and Saks Fifth Avenue, as well as in Europe and the Middle East.
Probably meant to be worn with one of those pointy bras so popular in the 40s and 50s, the kind that could potentially poke your eye out. It can still fit you fine if you don't have one! Some of the beads are loose as shown. There is also some wear at the armpits (see last picture). This is normal wear for an item of this age.
Perfect as a cocktail/prom dress, or for a formal affair, you would certainly stand out!
