In 1913, Gulf Refining Co. in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania opened the first drive-in gas station and began giving away free road maps. In the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s, major oil companies offered free travel services to motorists, including maps with suggested driving routes. In the 1930s, Sinclair issued large five-panel maps that depicted life on the road in a carefree and playful way.
Originally published in 1968/1976 showing vintage roadways and tourist attractions.
The maps are in good condition considering their age and use
