The GREEN GOAT was a magazine created by Ohio University students .it offered comic relief and intelligent humor written by and for the students. The first issue, published in 1913 by. Virgil Fallon and Carl Foss sold for 15 cents! These three magazines were from the off-campus student publication . Reemerging in 1954 , and it earned the same scandalous reputation as when it started as an off campus magazine. They contain short stories ,photographs ,editorials and comic illustrations pertinent to the times along with local and national advertisements as shown in photos. It was first published in the early 1900s discontinued and then re-emerged in 1954 as an off-campus student publication with a relatively sensor free environment that quickly earned a scandalous reputation around campus and community . publication ended in 1961.In excellent condition ~ no writing or pen marks ~only a slight tear on the freshman issue at the bottom left-hand corner of the cover and a slight bit of discoloration to the cover from age on the yellow issue. Freshman Issue 1954 ~Senior Issue 1955~the Yellow Issue with the Crowned Frog. I will include a short history of the publication from the early 1900's to 1961 when it no longer was published. IN ONE MAGAZINE INCLUDED ARE ORIGINAL PAGES OF AN EARLY RELEASE. It was found by a student in a family trunk and was included to “explain “ why they chose the name of the magazine.
