VINTAGE DONALD STANNARD Couture Black Glass Bead Multi Strand Necklace Barrel Shaped Bead Rare Vintage 70s Haute Couture Runway length 19 inches. The 9 strand Black Glass bead measures 16 inches. Gold tone oval clasps Hooks each measure 1 1/2 inches in length and 2 inches wi All strands are secured under the gold tone clasp by gold tone rings and the beads are individually knotted. The Donald Stannard back stamp is visible inside the clasp. (Please reference picture.) This necklace is part of an estate collection. It is in very good condition. There is some very minor wear on the gold tone His pieces are becoming hard to find vintage treasures. Stannard started his own line after working for Kenneth Jay Lane in the 60's. His solo career began in 1972 and he gained steam when he was mentioned in Vogue. After that he became known for his designs being used in Broadway plays, TV shows such as Dynasty and being worn by the rich and famous.
