This rare ladle is truly a work of art by an artist whose work has been sold at such luxury stores as Neiman Marcus! Purchased directly at the artist's studio in Taxco, Mexico, in about 1990. One owner.
By Emilia Castillo, handmade in Mexico. Beautifully crafted hammered finish silver plate ladle with a parrot perched on the handle's top. The 3-D parrot is made of inlaid turquoise stone with a bronze beak and onyx eyes.
The piece measures 14 1/2 inches total length, ladle bowl is 3 5/8 inches wide and 2 inches deep, handle width is 1 1/4 inches at its widest (at the top). Very heavy and substantial weighing in at 294 grams (10.4 oz)
This was never used--only on display and admired as an art piece in the dining room. I polished this by hand so it shows light patina, but if you wish for it to look flawless you can buff it--I'll leave that up to you. My home is smoke free.
