The Sheffield Silver Company was founded in Brooklyn, NY in 1908. They created a range of silver serving pieces that included coffee and tea sets, trays, platters and tableware. This vintage, possibly antique Butler's tray is marked with the Sheffield stamp on back along with the numbers 5/254. 254 stands for the style of the tray and the number 5 might be a date code reference. It is in a gorgeous tarnished state, which adds lots of character. If you prefer it a little more on the shiny side, careful cleaning with silver polish will brighten it up. 15.5 x 11 inches without handles. 19.5 x 11 inches with handles.
