VIRGINIA JOHNSON Signature Sonia Dress Bold Cocoa Brown Zigzag Print on White Voile Vintage From Summer 2007 Size Medium ~ 6 Virginia Johnson is a prolific illustrator, textile artist, clothing designer and the founder of an eponymous collection of caftans, tunics and scarves. After studying Art History at Queen’s University, she moved to New York to study fashion design at Parsons. One of her first jobs was a design assistant at Helmut Lang in SoHo, where she worked on his first shoe and bag collections with Prada. Shortly thereafter, she before launched her own collection of printed caftans in 2001. This vintage Virginia Johnson summer dress has a bold cocoa brown Zigzag print over white. The style is Sonia and it's from Summer 2007. The fabric is a very fine cotton voile that is breathable, airy and comfortable on. It's fully lined from straps to hem in a super soft, light white voile. No need for a slip and the wide straps make it convenient for a bra for some support if desired. The dress is soft yet crisp right out of a suitcase. Two wonderful, deep front pockets that meld into the design and are so useful. Condition is excellent preowned condition, minimal wear. Worn post pregnancy.
