VTG 1939-61 Gladstone Rosa Carolina Floral English Bone Cup & Saucer HTF Pattern
Excellent Vintage Condition with no chips or cracks. The gold trim is unworn. Please examine photographs.
Delicate yellow and purple floral bone china teacup and saucer. Gold accented rims and handle.
Dating unclear. The mark (without the “estd for over 80 years”) was first used in 1939 when the name of the company became Gladstone China (Longton) Ltd., but it’s unclear when the company was actually established because there was china being manufactured at the site since the 18th century, and marked china from the site didn’t begin until 1891. This narrows the manufacture date to between 1939 and the date the company ceased manufacturing in 1961.
Unknown pattern name, although the flower appears to be an English flower called a “pasture rose,” or “Rosa Carolina.” This seems to be a hard to find pattern.
