Internationally renowned Italian artist Marcello Fantoni's mid century ceremic art pieces are extremely desirable & collected worldwide. This lovely ashtray he created in 1968 is signed Fantoni Italy for Raymor on its base. The hand thrown wheel style & brutalist drip glaze on this work of art displays his unique style & technique. Made in Italy About the Artist: MARCELLO FANTONI (1915-2011) was an Italian sculptor, ceramicist, metalworker, multi-media artist & designer.  He studied ceramics and the arts at the Art Institute of Porta Romana, graduating as a maestro of art in 1934. In 1936 he opened the Fantoni Ceramic Studio in Florence producing ceramic series, individual pieces, sculptures & furnishings.
