KRIZIA by MARIUCCIA MANDELLI
Called the "godmother" of Italian fashion, couturier Mariuccia Mandelli (1933-2015) established her ready-to-wear fashion house, Krizia, by bringing suitcases of samples to shops in Milan out of her Fiat 500.
During the 1950s and early 1960s she produced mainly dresses and separates. Her company grew through the 1970s and 1980s to become one of the leaders of the Italian fashion world.
Under Mandelli, Krizia released a version of shorts cut "very short" in 1971, now seen as an early form of hot pants. Krizia grew into a $500 million business at its height during the 1990s.
Here we have a beautiful soft navy blue twill matte washed silk blend Krizia skirt from the 1990s.
It has an inset high waist and features sailor buttons and functional pockets in front. Its silhouette is long and lean with a slit at the midi hemline in back. 100% silk shell, 100% polyester lining. Hand wash.
