VTG 80s AJ Bari 12 14 Black Velvet Formal Wiggle Gown Dress Mermaid Long Evening

Perfect timing on this dress I just found. The past couple of years the red carpet has been filled with vintage clothing, mostly Y2K & 90’s. Someone, (Vogue? Harper’s Bazaar?), said 80’s & 50’s vintage was beginning to show up lately. So! This vintage, long sleeve, full length gown is by AJ Bari for size 14. Vintage sizing is not the same as modern sizing. So, it may fit closer to a size 12. It’s created with black soft rayon/silk velvet, with just a touch of stretch. It’s in excellent condition, except the zipper pull. There’s a salt grain sized chip in the paint. I did take a picture of it for you. The final photo. It has a sheer illusion bodice, burnout pattern and polka dots of shimmery, metallic 3D threads. There’s a sweetheart neckline and the dress is unlined for a sleek fit. It subtly flares out at the bottom.
