VTG ANNE KLEIN IKAT 1973 MAXI SKIRT TOP- MET Museum - Battle Of Versailles

This is an Amazing Vintage Anne Klein  skirt set. This print and the skirt were part of her collection which was worn at the THE BATTLE OF VERSAILLES  Fashion Show in 1973. See the last black and white photo. The 2nd to last photo is from the archives of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. There is a caftan in this print in their collection. EXCELLENT VINTAGE CONDITION The maxi skirt has body suit type crotch that is snaps into place and is removable. The waist closes with a hook and snap and has an attached long tie. The Top is a collared, long sleeve button down with 2 buttons at each cuff. There is a spare button sewn onto the top. The set is in excellent condition, a designer  size 8 (like today's size 6). Over all size M Approximate measurements: TOP: 39" CHEST 15.5" ACROSS BACK OF SHOULDERS 23" SLEEVE LENGTH 40" ACROSS BOTTOM OF TOP 27" LENGTH ALONG BACK FROM NECK TO BOTTOM NOTE: THE TOP HAS A VERY SLIGHTLY TAPERED WAIST SKIRT: 30" WAIST UN-TIED FULL SKIRT 40.5" LENGTH FROM WAIST TO BOTTOM The fabric is an Ikat design with an East  Indian Motif  of elephants, figures and temples. There is no fabric tag but it feels like a cotton, silk blend. Dry clean only. The background color is a chocolate brown. There are orange, ivory, green and wine colored designs.
