VTG Art Deco Silver & Black Mesh Purse Towanny Snaps Made in Hong Kong

Truly beautiful vintage purse / handbag created in the art deco, 1920's, "flapper girl" mesh purse style of Whiting and Davis. Mesh purses have been a recurring staple since the 1820s, with the first bags made by hand with interlocking metal rings. A certain points, companies would send the metal links to consumers, who would then assemble the mesh at home! This purse is mostly silver with a black band. The purse closes with a snap, labelled "Towanny", and a flap covers the opening. A tag reads "Made in Hong Kong". There is no structure; when empty, the mesh essentially melts into your hand. Wonderful sensory experience. Measures approximately 6.5" wide x 5.5" tall with 22" long chain strap. Please view photos carefully for condition. Of note: one small lipstick stain on the interior.
